TCE Contracting undertook the upgrade of the Epping Road in Macquarie Park under TfNSW and City of Ryde Council specifications. The project included stormwater drainage, road pavement rehabilitation, and the construction of new concrete kerbs, paved footpaths and landscaping. Given the high daytime traffic volumes, TCE developed and employed several construction methodologies, including closing traffic lanes under short term road occupancies, constructing temporary pavement to shift lanes, and conducting work at night using road plates to minimise daytime disruption. A cut and cover approach was adopted as all works were required to be undertaken during nightshifts. TCE navigated the Traffic Management Centre’s restrictions on daytime road occupancy and lane closures, effectively completing the project during off-peak hours and ensuring all lanes were open and fully operational by the end of each shift.
