Westlink Industrial

TCE Contracting was engaged for remediation works at the Kemps Creek Westlink Industrial site, covering 33 hectares. The project addressed multiple known hotspots and managed unexpected finds. To meet the client’s need for readiness in several site areas, TCE deployed multiple crews to work systematically and in close collaboration with the client’s Environmental Consultant. This approach included reviewing previous site investigations to delineate bonded and friable asbestos hotspots, allowing for the treatment and re-use of approximately 4,000 m³ of bonded asbestos-impacted soils and saving the client around $2 million in disposal costs. TCE maintained rigorous material tracking controls and provided daily soil movement summaries to ensure separation of waste streams. This enabled the treatment and re-use of over 50% of the contaminated material on site, significantly enhancing project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
